Our Story

Our signature program, the KidSpeare Theater Company, introduces kids to the magic of Shakespeare in a way that’s playful, accessible, and exciting.  From speaking powerful lines on stage to collaborating with friends behind the scenes, young performers discover their voices, build confidence, and experience the joy of storytelling.

At the heart of KidSpeare is the belief that Shakespeare can be performed (and understood) by all ages.    We have been in existence for two years, and have created two amazing fall performances for the NYC Student Shakespeare Festival.  We added some younger performers (7 - 10 years old), and did  a Summer production of "Enchanted Forest Discovery.

✨ At Kidspeare, every step, every line, and every laugh brings our community closer together.

A New Chapter

My name is Vivian Megias

This new venture is the culmination of a lifelong passion. For over two decades, I taught English in New York City, always seeking ways to ignite a love for literature in my students. That led me to discover the magic of teaching Shakespeare, particularly because the themes and lessons were worth the effort of demystifying the language.

I honed my craft through post-graduate work at NYU's Creative Arts Team (CAT) program, where I became certified to teach K-12 theater in New York State. For five of those years, I was fortunate to teach in an all-theater curriculum, gaining hands-on experience in every role of a production, from the director's chair to the stage crew. I've directed at least a dozen plays, taking half of them to the NYC Student Shakespeare Festival.

My true passion is helping young actors find their voice and confidence.  Now, my classroom is the stage -- creating a space where children can explore, learn, and fall in love with theater, Shakespeare, and maybe even themselves.
